Love is the energy that connects us all

A year ago at this time, I posted this quote on my lifecoachrenee facebook page: “A greater understanding of self-enables a greater understanding of the world we live in. That holds true for us today as well.

The new year is always a good time to learn more about yourself, your neighbors, your friends and even who we might consider our “enemies” as the media would want us to think. Those of us who are perceived different because of race, religion, beliefs, and cultures are constantly pitted in an us against them scenario.  For quite some time now, I have put myself on a media diet and like most diets I would yo-yo back and forth between watching and reading news and not.

These days I have found a new solution that appeases my heart and I believe my soul as well as long as I leave my head out of it. When I find something out that hits home or across the world-I write it down and then I take it  to my meditation time and give it up to God.  I always ask for the highest and best outcome for the person, place or situation but I like to think that just taking that little bit of time out of my day or some times week actually”helps things along some how”. In some ways, I believe being aware of what goes on in the world, and not being attached to the outcome enables me to understand myself and the world better so that I can act from that place of understanding AND actually make a difference in the world.

I have made many promises to myself this year to be a better person, to be of service more, to worry less, to be more productive, to get my message out to a bigger audience, to have fun more, to actually write letters to friends and family in a digital age-the list is endless. And yet all of these things, whether I fulfill that promise or not, enables me to understand myself better and the world we live in as long as I am not grasping at the outcome.

My most recent lifecoachrenee post reads  ” I am one with every living being because we are all in and of the same consciousness. Thusly I can never be separate from love for love is the connecting energy of all things within that one”-Arcturian Council

I would like to think that in my feeble little brain of possibilities and imagination, that some day we ALL will understand what that means for everyone. But we still have a long way to go and we can start by understanding ourselves so that we can really begin to understand each other.

For we are all in this together, no matter what our race, religion, culture and or belief, we all know love, we all are love, and we all come from that same divine source of consciousness that is love expressing itself through us on this beautiful blue marble that we call our home….. and by golly if that is not inspiring us to live from the Heart Center-then I don’t know what can……..

Silence is Golden – Meditation and Beyond by Energy Practitioner Debbie Matsushima

Ah. The New Year’s Resolution. What’s yours – start a diet; exercise more; develop healthier eating habits; quit smoking; learn to meditate? If it’s learning to meditate, that’s not impossible. I’m not going to spend a lot of time explaining the “how to’s” of meditation because there’s so much that’s been written and recorded about it that it could fill a few dumpsters! I want to go beyond that and generally advocate silence.

Meditation is a great way to start being silent. Start slowly if it’s new to you. Carve out five minutes of your busy day and take that time to look inward. I was taught the “RPM” method of meditation – rise, pee, meditate! Some days that works for me and others it doesn’t, but I always try to fit it in my day, even meditating with my earphones plugged into my iPhone’s recorded meditation music on an airplane. Busy parents can get their children to meditate with them by showing them this method for slowing down.

Your meditation can take many forms. You can use a CD for guided meditation or find music that fits the length of time you want to sit in stillness. You can always just use a timer to signal the end of your session. If these methods don’t appeal to you, just look into a candle or into any crystal and see where it takes you. Find a mantra or affirmation that appeals to you and repeat it to yourself during your silent time. Don’t worry about the mind chatter; just think of it as clouds passing before your inner vision and let them drift past.

For me, meditation was my first step in going deeper within. Sometimes that mind chatter really meant something to me – it was an “ah ha” moment. I found that those moments increased as I let my world got quieter. I turned off the TV, stopped listening to even classical music on the radio, and stopped playing CDs as I went through my day. I paid less attention to the computer and did less texting. All these things (and all the resulting silence) brought me more inspiration and insights. I could hear the voice inside me that really guided me. That was my inner self. And I learned that when I truly had inspiration, that came from my higher self. I believe that my higher self is my connection to the divine and I know that we all have that ability to connect with our higher divine self.

So, take time and start that meditation resolution. Enjoy the silence it brings you, and you just might find that you start craving that quiet for longer than five or ten minutes. Bring it into as much of your day as you can and listen to your higher self for inspiration and guidance. We just have to get quite and listen!

Seeing the Bigger Picture in June

Dear Heart Centered Living Friends,

I have always been one who has enjoyed “plugging” into the times,
the time of the season, the time of the year, the holidays or special
times that we celebrate in groups, gatherings and with our families.
But I really had no idea how significant it was until I opened my mind
and heart to Earth Wisdom, be it Native Spirituality, the Divine
Feminine or even Buddhism for that matter. The event on the national calendar compared to the event on the cosmic calendar is beyond comparison.

Let me explain this a little bit. We all are very aware of certain
things that happen at various times during the year, we just
celebrated Memorial day as a nation, we will celebrate Father’s Day
as a nation, 4th of July as a nation, etc….But how many times do we
celebrate or honor an event that is happening globally? We are tied
into a calendar that recognizes many events that honestly have only
been sanctioned within the last 100 years or so. But what about new
moons, full moons, equinoxes, and solstices? Which have been
celebrated by indigenous peoples as well as since the beginning of
time.

I for one, am enjoying all of this history, this getting back to our
roots, that seems was thrown out with the great literary books so long ago. For some reason we were taught that worshiping the sun, or
talking to the moon was considered evil and so we just swept it under
the rug and did not think twice about it. But I have to tell you when
you start uncovering the truth, the roots, the history, the
information that is programmed in our cells, veins, blood and bones,
there is something very rewarding in honoring and revering all that
which gives you life;the earth that sustains us, the grass that we
walk on, the trees that supply us with wood for heat, the sun that
makes our gardens grow, the rain that nourishes us, the list goes on
and on. And I have to believe that the creator, source, great spirit,
great mystery, God, All that is, would want us to “SEE” things
that way so that we may “DO” things a little bit differently then
what we have been doing to each other and to this earth……

Join us some Wednesday evening around the Medicine Wheel in Maine at 6:00, bring your lawn chair, and learn all about the practical ways to apply the Heart Centered Living philosophy to your life such as the understanding that all things and beings are related, and there fore must be in harmony for the earth to be balanced. Love offering or trade/barter (plants and posies are welcome)
  2. Host a mini-retreat, workshop, gathering or series at your home
with 6-8 interested people around the following teachings:
  • Shamanic Basics-The age old wisdom of Shamanism, which reaches back to the stone-age and paleolithic times, is alive and well today. It is still used by traditional healers around the globe, but the ancient methods have also been put to contemporary everyday use for self-help and healing. You too can draw on the powers of shamanism, for the path of the Shaman is the path of the self in its deepest connection to nature. Learn about sacred space, altars, smudging, and power animals.

Discover your underlying intuitive gifts that you do have and learn how to develop your psychic potential through awakening your senses, opening up through meditation, tuning into your chakras, understanding your will, looking at auras and sharpening your psychic vision.
  • Faery Goddess Gathering – Like a pamper me party with a little faery goddess twist. Engage in activities that connect you to your inner fairy goddess through creative visualization, play time, a magical craft and even faery readings if you choose.
