Church in old days

The Heart Center Building History

History of the Heart Centered Living Building (280 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY)

Origins & Architectural Background

The building that houses Heart Centered Living (HCL) is an 1869 Gothic Revival church located at 280 Main Street, Wellsburg, NY. Originally constructed as a place of worship, it has since been repurposed into a spiritual and wellness center while still maintaining its historic and sacred essence. It has been on the National Historic Register since 2000.

The church was built by Isaac Perry, who was a Freemason. He incorporated hidden symbols (“Easter eggs”) throughout the sanctuary, which can still be found today. These symbols, often embedded in stained glass windows and architectural details, serve as a fascinating aspect of the building’s esoteric history.

Freemason Influence & Hidden Symbolism

  • The church was intentionally designed with sacred geometry and mystical elements, some of which are linked to Freemasonry and esoteric traditions.
  • Visitors are encouraged to examine the stained glass windows for hidden symbols and spiritual messages.
  • Research into Gematria (an ancient Hebrew numerology system) has revealed a connection to Mary Magdalene and the Vesica Pisces, a sacred geometric symbol associated with divine feminine energy and creation.

The Tree of Life Fits on the plan of the church

  • The parts against the perimeter line up with the windows.
  • Notice the one node that aligns with the transition to the stage.
  • Note the node that lines up with the Holy of Holies.
  • The colored dots represent the door colors. With blue for the main entrance.

Transformation into Heart Centered Living

In 2016, the building was reclaimed and repurposed by Renée Guidelli, an ordained minister and life coach, who established the Heart Centered Living Place. The goal was to preserve the sacredness of the space while transforming it into a community-centered sanctuary for spiritual growth, holistic healing, and conscious living.

The space now serves as:

  • A retreat center for spiritual and wellness programs
  • A venue for community gatherings, sound healing, and drumming circles
  • A hub for holistic education and personal transformation

Today, Heart Centered Living at 280 Main Street continues to honor the building’s historic roots while creating a modern-day temple for healing, learning, and connection.
